JUSTICE DELAYED : JUSTICE DENIED

How Long It takes to get justice:
Case 1: Four Years
2 get 1-year jail for stalking WR commuter
Nearly four years after two men were nabbed for sexually harassing a woman in a WR local by blowing kisses, making lewd gestures and stalking her, a magistrate court sentenced them to one-year simple imprisonment. Sunil Sarfare (52) and Prashant Darge (30) had targeted the woman when she entered a general compartment of a Churchgate local around 10pm.
Case 2: Eleven Years
4 convicted for ’08 Jaipur serial blasts that killed 80
Eleven years after 80 people were killed and more than 170 injured in eight successive blasts that rocked Jaipur on a May evening, a special court on Wednesday convicted four of the five accused and held the banned Indian Mujahideen (IM) responsible for the attack. The fifth accused, who was the first one to be arrested in the case, was acquitted.
Case 3: More than Seven Years
Justice Awaited
Nirbhaya case has dragged on for too long, judiciary needs to be faster
Given the horrific brutality of the case, the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder had shaken the conscience of the nation. But in an open and shut case such as this one, the wait for justice has been too long. If such a high profile case can’t reach finality even after seven long years, then the law can hardly hold much deterrence value.
The Nirbhaya gang rape and murder fell in the rarest of rare category. And right from the trial court till the Supreme Court, the judicial system rightly upheld the death penalty for the convicts. But review petitions filed at different stages with the Supreme Court have delayed justice at least by two years. This only reinforces the perception that the wheels of justice move excruciatingly slowly in this country. And if the accused happen to be politically powerful, things can be even worse.
Therefore, there is an urgent need to speed up the judicial process and reconsider review petitions in heinous crime cases when conviction has been upheld from the trial court till the apex court. The tareekh pe tareekh mindset – courts issuing date after date – must go.
Government needs to amend the Criminal Procedure Code and Laws for heinous crimes of Rape and Murder:
1. Death penalty only, No life imprisonment
2. No appeal allowed beyond High Court
3. No Mercy Petition, No Review Petition, No curative Petition
4. Hang the Rapist/Murderer within a week of sentencing
5. Do not allow adjournments for any reason more

This area needs special attention on war footing.Every one should make a sincere effort to bring down the pendancy of cases to a maximum of 5 years.Open more courts, appoint more Judges, increase in working hours and working days of Judges, give less opportunities to culprits, show no leniency to culprits.Fix the targets for the judges of settling cases etc. more
The problem in our country is that every one right from the Prime Minister to the Chief Justice of the Apex Court often talk on this issue realising the need for timely delivery of justice assuring the nation to initiate necessary steps to overcome hurdles resulting in such inordinate delay even in cases like 'Nirbhoya'. But always such assurances dry up on the table of assurances only. In fact the prevailing system of the country to open different windows even for the criminals of hyenas awarded with death penalty should be limited. There is no justification in lingering on the execution of the punishment pronounced for several years which is no more than denying justice to the victims. more
The judges gets transformed before the judgement day whatever the case may be.Our country is like that.. it's better to die than to suffer throughout our life. We must be a politician. Or related to him/her..otherwise. it is very difficult. To live in India. Ordinary people are left alive only for vote banks. more
We have to fight for every issue which is not justifiable or good for the society. Why we are electing useless people to run the govt. We have to change. Not one or two, every one of us. more
Certainly, justice delayed is justice denied. It is pathetic that more than 90% prisoners have not been chargesheeted in the country for years or decades. In many cases, it is noticed that by the judgement is pronounced, the accused completed the jail term or even more. Unless otherwise, all pending cases are fast tracked and judgements are given within a year maximum, this will linger for centuries. Secondly, for henious crimes, cases must be legally dealt with in 30 days period and guilty must be punished by chopping of the parts of the body which did the crime in public which would instill fear in the minds of the citizens. This will go in long way of solving the problems. more
These are cases wherein the Justice is delivered. WHAT ABOUT CASES/CRIMES WHICH ARE YET TO BE BROUGHT BEFORE THE COURT OF LAW????? Case No. 1: Dabholkar & Com. Pansare Murders wherein the investigations are yet to be compleated. Case No. 2: In a given example of FRAUD of Rs. 53 PLUS crors is estimated (Factually more) and Investigation is still going on since past SIX years. Culprits being Histroy Sheeter, since 2004, are freely active in all their illegal acts and activities, even today. Complaint lodged with ACB never ever get registered (FIR Not registered) but very complaint along with Supporting proof/Documents were handed over to RTO Dept. against the Officials the complaint lodged.
