Kanwariyas..continued
The discussion on Kanwariyas is still on.In continuance of the same,I would like to plead defence of the freedom of religion in an orderly manner. Kanwariyas must not indulge in even the slightest bit of rowdy behaviour.No noise pollution either or other unruly conduct.But the public needs to be sensitised as to how devoted Kanwariyas are in their pursuit of carrying gangajal to their destination.For details please read Mr Suresh Gulati's comments in my post below which will explain the frustration of the Kanwariyas whose pots of JAL are damaged.They should be given a sympathetic hearing.On Mr Suresh Gulati's suggestion(,read my post below),I am adding his thoughts here-"Segregation and deployment of more police personnel or civil defence volunteers during this period to avoid any unpleasant situation".I don't see the need to say any more for now except that there needs to be sensitive enabling all around-for the devotees and for those who stand by(or drive by) and wait(in traffic jams).For they serve too more

I do not justify anything wrong.Your knee jerk reaction is typical of someone who has not read the entire post.I do not have to be attacked just because I have stood up for a Hindu tradition which has gone horribly wrong because of infiltration.And,Mr Prasad,please mind your threats.Just because you do not agree with me is not reason to threaten me with ill-wishing.They certainly do not have the right to do anything wrong 'in the name of religion'.They should be punished.For the rest ,please read the story and do not presume to threaten me.I have had the courage to express my honest opinion.I hope you can do the same without being unpleasant more

Sadly,there is more acceptance of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants than there is of our own Kanwariyas.Cross border infiltration is less of a threat than movement fo pilgrims across the country more

Whatever it's, goondaism and manga handling, getting agitated, or doing illegitimate things on the way to Ganga ..in the name of their gods or worship is totally unacceptable and beyond imagination. Totally irresponsible acts which the states and union of India need to redress or address issues so that no untoward incident take place. God bless kanwarias and the indians... more

Mr Stephen: If people on the road does not behave well with Kanvarias and hit them through an accident, one will face the reaction. And it happens same way once any accident happens. You will probably not eve know how many Kanwarias died of road accidents. How many Kanwarias have been beaten to near death by certain group of people. Carrying some bat/ball in self defence does not make them goons. Have you ever seen them doing some crimes? No.They are not carrying swords and guns. They also have every right to walk on the road. Please preach something which should facilitate this energy to the right direction. In any case this would keep them fit. Please refrain using words Drama, political patronage, push and shove. This is unjustice to the people who are taking this pilgrimage. I have not seen people like you to oppose when the road is blocked to offer Namaj on the road, railway platform, rail tracks. It only needs little attantion of authorities to organise things a bit. Now-a-days it has become a fashion to target and criticize Hindus, their culture, their festivals. Please stop this non-sense in the name of secularism. Hindus have also their right to live in this country in their own way. more
