Know how eCommerce reviews and ratings work

Many of you have been giving your inputs on identifying issues of ecommerce and LocalCircles has been regularly escalating them for resolution and inclusion in policies. This year's survey as the one in 2017 on e-commerce reviews and ratings is quite insightful and below is the survey report. Not only does the survey throw insights on the issues and solutions related to online reviews and ratings, your feedback is also helpful in differentiating between real reviews/ratings and how to identify fake reviews/ratings.

We look forward to any inputs you may have on issues with reviews/ratings or tips on how to identify fake ones!

Very good report more
Product review sometimes differ what actual is being delivered. more
Product specifications are quite often hazy. more
most of the reviews are paid and not worth the page they are published on , especially with online market place the are manipulated in such way that leads to high sales , if we carefully notice rave reviews are written on such products where they earn higher margins , on each and every product they should provide links where the manufacturer full details including mrp are displayed for eg https://www.amazon.in/Charger-EN-EL14-Battery-Compatible-Digital/dp/B07R6ZHZQM/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?keywords=nikon+mh24&qid=1570637098&sr=8-1-fkmr this product is fake proof attached this is genunine http://www.nikon.co.in/en_IN/product/accessories/slr-cameras/quick-chargers/battery-charger-mh-24 on line sellers should be made to disclose the margins commisions they take on each product price margin their earnings other charges if any such high ratings on a fake ? check the wording by generic if it is generic why are they using brand name and misleading the public one has to read each and every letter and symbol if any one points out they blame the seller , when they take commision they should also be responsible for products that are sold on their site lots of people have complained on this forum but no action from govt with this post i am hopping to see some action more
The review must be examined critically more
