Exactly the correct requisite . The inhuman discrimination in the Minimum Wages/Salaries between the Government , semi/Quasi Government and , the Private Sector Employees . Firstly there needs to be at least one national employment website for job postings and offers and one for each state which is free for both the employer and employee and gives everyone employee and employer the freedom to get their requirements seen by all, the present system of ads in newspapers, websites where both the employer and employee are being fleeced and given nothing in return should be banned, as once either has lost money , they will be hesitant to go for another anticipating same results. Secondly all employees should be given the right to leave and go for better prospects by giving a 2 months notice to their employers - this is much much better than wasting their entire life depending on unions to extract more money from employers who are not getting the returns to justify the increases or who may just not believe in paying for the work the employees are doing or whose business is not viable to match the minimum wages required. I Feel when the first thing is implemented like GST in India, automatically demand/supply will decide which person is going to remain and leave depending on his/her importance and will automatically lead to higher wage offers to retain him/her. Like in USA, the only labour laws are for the minimum per hour, the maximum no of hours a worker should work and the minimum entitlements that he should get, rest is left to demand supply. If A is very intelligent, he will apply for jobs that require high intelligence and good salaries matching his intelligence, because of open viewpoint no restriction on anyone applying for jobs in India, the employer who wants him to remain will have to either match the offer or agree to lose him/her. This voluntary method will ensure performance grows and will not allow unions to use pressure tactics to just force either employer or employee to follow their dictat. Similarly employers will have the right to inform workers that their services are no longer required while paying them their dues for the 60 days notice period giving them enough time to go where future is brighter for them. Bad employers who do not pay well will have dearth of staff and good employers with a good track record will not have to pay too high to get good staff, but no staff would be complacent when their is a right to fire. Union rights need to be curtailed if India is to become a super power with high growth as without labour reforms , all political parties just want to have their own unions, show their power to extract money for various nefarious purposes, Unions should only be there to rehabilitate workers and educate workers on how to improve themselves, get them set at the right places so they thrive and do everything from their collections to help workers who suddenly face bad times like accidents, loss of job, loss in family or any other calamity. more

Govt. should have all the data of who is privately employed where. Cleaning lady, the cook, gardener, car driver everyone. That helps both sides. Also the Govt can have database of such service providers and their basic employment records, salaries expected, education, etc. Right now it is either arbitrary or through middle-men, and not good. Help enforce minimum wages or higher in young workers who come from outside the states. Often they are exploited, we all know that. The guys who provide security guards at some colleges, takes 25% off the salaries of the guards from Assam. Is that fair? more
