Land Aquisition Bill.

Congress leaders are repeating adnausiam like an idiot parrot that the bill is against the interest of farmers without spelling out the exact interest that the provision of the bill harms their interests. As an active farmer I do not find any thing wrong with the bill. In fact I would readily give up my land if Govt. gives me 4 times its market value and provide employment to one of my family members in the project for which land is acquired as provided in the bill. Most of the farmers in my village are in agreement with me. The simple reason is one of economics. Farming, looked from economic angle, does not give a return of more than 3-6% of the current market value of land. If one gets compensation equivalent of 4 times the value of land and invest in 100% secure bonds, the income from the investment will shoot up to 7-14 times of the income from agriculture without doing any work and undertaking risks that a farmer has to face.
Moreover, we also understand that roads, irrigation works, railways, electric supply, defence installations, houses for rural and poor people and such other noble schemes can not be built with out land and therefore farming community is willing to make sacrifices for development and advancement of our country. Nation can not make progress and economy can not move forward with out infrastructure and industrial development.
Congress party appears to have been so peeved by its defeat that it does not see any thing good and simply say no to every thing in desperation like a dying man who sees no chance of recovery and wants to put end to his life at the earliest. Or its negative and obstructionist attitude is the result of its being led by a person of foreign origin who has not interest in progress and advancement of the of the Nation and wants dominance of Western powers like a mole of those countries. This brings to mind how 6 clerks working in a small dingy office in London in the name and style of East India Company managed through their agent (Lord) Clive to loot our wealth and rule us for 300 years. more
