Our Builder sold us flats and kept half of the gound floor to him self now he is selling and not giving us our parking space is it not illegal what to do any suggestions? more

If the ground floor is meant for parking, selling it now is illegal. As per building plans and provision of parking space to all allottees in the ground floor, builder;s retaining half ground floor is also illegal. Please talk to the builder. If he does not agree, write to registering authority of flats, not to register the property in the ground floor since it is illegal. Flat owners association also object to it and whosoever purchaser comes to purchase the flats in ground floor, he should be told about this. In addition, if all the flats have been allotted and taken possession by the purchasers, all of you should form an association, get it registered and then put a notice in the building on display indicating therein that the purchaser of illegal property will not have legal right for the membership in the association and also supply of water can be stopped and electricity authorities be approached for not proving for any electric connection. In such an eventuality, people may not dare to purchase the ground floor flat. Then builder may be asked to provide for parking space. more
