Legal and Judicial System Issues
I have written on this subject in my blog in siliconindia, earlier. I wanted all Judges to give details of their position as we demand information of customers by banks they call it KYC, similarly people should get information of our judges put in front of their court room, Know Your Judge, or KYJ. It is our right to know how competent our judge is. Judges are pushed on people that is not correct in democracy. This practice is from the time of British Raj. In KYJ, academic details such as class passed in SSC, class passed in law examination, when practising Advocate how many cases tried, how many successfully and how many lost. When working as Judge average rate of completing cases in time and how many cases not resolved in time.
Judges are changed without notice to both the parties. This must stop. Judges should be given to understand that they are public servants.
Our courts have too many vacations, they should be reduced. Increase in numbers of Judges are required. Advocate must not show their oratory excellence in court, they should talk to the point. That consumes a lot of time. These are a few recommendations. Actual list is much larger! more
