Legal Metrology must activate itself - Coronavirus
Loot has begun in my hometown Bhopal and I am sure Many other cities where chemists are charging more for medicines and medical products. See attached.
I urge legal metrology controllers to ensure they are not charging over MRP. If there is any other body that looks after this please activate them.

Ms. Aditi , the Purana , Naya comparative rates looks like the notice pasted by the Medical Shop . This is not a valid document to fight M.R.P. ; the Valid Document is that you see on the product , Strip ,, Bottle Sachet and so on . The consumers guideline is the print on the product itself . Now for some reason the price has been enhanced on some products , then it applies to only the products manufactured after the order ., The wholesaler , the C&F Aggents godown the change of price should be stuck on the strip, bottle , sachet . When the product has reached the shelves of the retailer then also it is advised to stick . IF THE RETAILER HAS BOUGHT SOME PRODUCTS PRIOR TO THE PRICE RICE IN OLD PRICES , THE REATAILER HAS TO STICK TO THE M.R.P ONLY . You can Check up the prices with other pharmacies. In some towns there will also be syndicate league , federation which group together and also raise the price illegally . more

price rise during shortage is not breach of MRP. if MRP (printed) is 250 on a thermometer, you cannot take any action. if MRP is less than 250, then only you can take action. we indians do not demand an invoice while buying a product or service. this is another problem. how to prove you were charged beyond MRP. buy online - you shall get some discount and an invoice too. more

Why depend on the Govt./Courts etc when we have the potent weapon of boycotting such companies who do not believe in the rule of law laid down. If the Mahatma could drive out the British, why not experiment this with such companies? We need to make them realise the importance of abiding by the law. We need to establish that ethics has more power than money. more

please note the two different words Meteorology and Metrology. Metrolgy department is responsible for enforcement of MRP. We all members in this group are of the opinion that the authority at metrolgy department are reading post. But I doubt for this. Either they are not member in this group or they are completely ignoring their responsibilities of any action. In case are attending / reading this post - I request them to reply in affirmation of part of this group. more
