Life insurance claim says show witness of funeral

In many cases of COVID there was no live witness as hospitals or municipal staff did cremation/funeral.

This amounts to harassment and LIC and all insurance companies must waive this demand. Govt must tell them too.

LocalCircles please escalate this. They listen to you. Attached LIC form as example. more

I stand corrected to " Shri Shankar Shukla" and apologise to him for misspelling his name. more
I agree with Sri Shanka Shukla and request the authorities Insurance Regulatory & Development Authority (IRDA) or Concerned GOI to direct the insurance companies to waive the requirement of funeral witness for releasing Life Insurance benefit to the survivors. more
When the Agent mobilises the Policy, they never advertise the adverse features. The Policy Holder should know that the Agents gets monthly commission for collecting the premium, which hardly any agent does. Atleast, when the death of the policy holder takes place, either the Agent should be present or should sign as witness in the claim form after making necessary local enqueries. more
If the cause of death is COVID-19 as certified by the Drs, then this condition should be waved off not otherwise. However the death certificate issued by the Municipalities do not mention the cause of death. Hence the certificate issued by the HOSP/Drs should be enclosed as supporting documents along with the claim. more
You should have a COVID Death Certificate from the Hospital? If that is not helping - please do an FIR and based on that file a case in the criminal court. more
