I totally disagree with the comments of Shri Atul Jauhari ji which are totally in contempt to the decision of National Commission. I have already explained my view point in my comments. I will request the author to kindly seek refund of the extra amount so charged. more
@Desikachari Venugopal Ji. My take on the comments are: Sir I will explain as under. The MRP of the product is Rs. 2,699/-. After making discount of 40% on the MRP, the price become Rs. 1,619.40. This price is again MRP as the discount is give on MRP and hence no tax is chargeable. Against a price of Rs. 1,619.40 , the retailer has charged Rs. 1,700/- which is again more than MRP. To explain in detail, the price of Rs. 2699/- consisted of Rs. 2,570/- as basic price and Rs. 129/- as GST. After 40% of the discount on both component, it come to Rs. 1542/- as basic price and Rs. 77/- as GST. Since GST at the rate of Rs. 77/- on a sale of Rs. 1,542 has already been charged, hence charging again Rs. 81/- is double taxation and is therefore an unfair business practices. more
Sir, MRP means Maximum Retail Price. Can you please explain, if Rs. 2,699 is MRP (Maximum) how can the discounted selling price of Rs. 1,619.40 be termed as Maximum Retail Price? more
Very interesting invoice and very clean sales, if my understanding is correct. Total GST is Rs. 364.36. Also mentioned that "Tax collected from customer Rs. 161.94" It means, out of Rs. 364.36 GST, they have collected from customer Rs. 161.94 and remaining Rs. 202.42 comes from their input tax credit. If my interpretation is correct, their purchase price of Jeans was Rs. 1890 (=202.42/0.12 as 12% is the GST rate) against their selling price of Rs. 3,400. A clean 80% margin for lifestyle. An excellent tool for negotiating prices. more
