Local Circle Voice Honoured by the IRCTC/Railway Board

We had recorded several observations on mobile catering services in train and pricing for whimsical pricing by vendors. We had also pointed out, in several posts, that all sales - whether from static refreshment rooms in railway stations or from dining/ pantry cars - used to be receipted till last 70s/early 80s. The same system should be revived. It would be particularly helpful if the vendors are provided with POS machines, as now-a-days being practiced by many City/ST Buses, particularly in the Maharashtra State.
It is heartening to note that our voice had been honoured by the ITCTC/ Railway Board. It has been reported that, to start with 3 trains, viz.
1) 19707/8 - Jaipur - Bandra Terminus Aravali Exp.
2) 19723/4 - Hyderabad - New Delhi Telengana Exp, and
3) 12987/8 - Sealdah -Ajmer Exp.
have been equipped with such machines. Eventually, all major Mail/Express trains would be provided with such a system, each train would have about 12 of such machines.
What is more that a passenger would be having option make exact payment through his/ her Debit/ Credit card and would not fall into the problems of non-availability of smalls ( for returns) or to forcible acceptance of a complimentary(?) biscuit in lieu or ponder with the soiled currency note! ( I, however, made a point to take bagful of Re.1/- coins - weighing approx. 200-250 gms in my pocket, much to the chagrin and frowning hemispherical - brown eyes of my home-mover, my trouser pockets are not fabricated to carry that much load, and hence .... !) . No longer such problems. My pocket would become lighter. I shall be travelling lighter. My home mover would not become a shaker on this account.
So, thank you all members of local circles having supported my views - although passively, and a very very big thank you to the IRCTC/ Railway Board for acceptance and implementation of the proposal within a reasonable interval. more

I travel frequently from Chhindwara (CWA) to Faridabad by Panchvelli / Chhatisgarh Express. There is only one ( SP 1 )ordinary class boogey which is attached at Chhindwara with Panchevelli Express and then at Amla transferred to Chattisgarh Express. Surpriseingly no one is responsible for this compartment. No TTE ever comes for checking the Tickets , or Police Personnel to check unreserved passengers do not travel in this reserved compartment. The Lights and fans were not working whenever the train stopped. When intimated , the Gard informed that it would be rectified at Amla. At Amla station some fans and lights started functioning after the booge was attached with Chhatisgarh Express. Thereafter they stoppe working. When intimated , the Guard again showed ignorance about the complaint and told us that the faults would be rectified at Agra as he has already intimated them. Even after repeatedly intimating the Guard , the fans were not functional till I got down at Faridabad. Also , for every 1 passenger with Reserved seat , there are 5-6 daily passengers/railway employees , MST card holders in the compartment , making our travel a nighmare. On being informed the Guard intimated that he is not responsible for the same , we should contactthe TTE. Have never seen any TTE enter the compartment from Amla to Faridabad. The RPF Personnel with the Guard also refused to help. Is the Indian Railways only for Upper Class Passengers, then why charge ordinary passingers. Why can not the Railways give the same facility to ordinary reserved passengers which it provids to other passengers. Can someone intimate where we should lodge a complaint wherein unreserved passengers do not enter the compartment and that the utilities in the compartment function. more
what a remarkable system of payment in china. very simple and efficient. tap your phone with the vendor phone, and payment is done. no one pays cash. either taxi, restaurant super market or bus. no hassle to install machines. every one follows it every where. when will we do it. chetram khemram more
