Loot of middle class by PVR cinemas

Can I request the department of consumer affairs and competition commission of india to look into the organised loot by this multiplex company called PVR.

These PVR people have bought many theaters and for a normal middle class person now a movie ticket in big metros costs a bomb. They have gradually killed competition and raised prices much more than inflation.

They also flout legal metrology laws quite routinely by selling packaged products higher than MRP.

Either Govt should book them or have them ensure theater where a movie ticket costs 100 rupees not 450 rupees. more

I don't think people become so hungry on arrival to a cinema that they should consume eatables paying at least 10 times of their actual prices but what we see there! People are in Q to purchase those items available there at by shelling out such high prices even without bothering for their quality and freshness. There is no point in blaming them thereafter as consuming eatables in cinemas is not compulsory. In fact it has become a fashion to display ones financial status rather than their actual needs. As far as prices of tickets are concerned, the authorities must have some kind of control on the cinema owners to exercise control and keep the prices within the reach of common man. The viewership should also make protests against the cinema owners' autocratic acts. more
I don't think Govt/Regulatory agencies are serious on these things.Probably bribes are playing major role.In the name of security we are making things more and more difficult. more
Unable to understand that "Knowing all this well the People jump for cinema to the effect of Rs. 100 Cr. in a day Or in a week. BUT could not desist to wait Or to avoid when many other good options are available more
Very well said, there is no any control on the price of eatables as well. They sell loose coke of 10rs in 100 a burger of rs25 in 250. Concerned should interveine in the matter and make it economical. It will also be good for filmmakers, as more people will often come to see movies and have a snacks there. more
It is very valid point for a common consumer.Entertainment industry is being dictated by tech advances in theatres , production. Can’t we have a ceiling on the increasing burden by these Multiplexus in seats , cafetaria, drinks , bewerages , water . The ordinary citizens have no theatres with reasonable cost as all of them have been bought out by these money bags. more
