LOSS TO RAILWAYS

Among causes of loss to Railways, many hidden factors are not taken into account. Railways employees and their relatives travel FREE in AC1, AC 2 and AC3 but nobody checks.

Yes, in-service employees of the Railways cannot check it as they will invite the permanent wrath of the employee whose relatives or who herself/himself is travelling FREE.

In Shatbdi Express, online ticket was booked for AC Chair cars. The allotted seat was very comfortable but the Railway employees came and said: This A/C of this coach is not working. Hence, please go and sit in the next coach. It has AC, I went there.

In that coach, the seats were very hard. When the train started, after half-an-hour, I saw the Railway employees were sitting and enjoying cards. What a good service!

The Railways should have an external agency to raid and check its own employees misuse of Railways. It will bring more revenue to Railways and loss will result into profit.

Railways has thousands of acres of land not being utilised, may this be used for cultivation of vegetables, flowers, or other short term local produce can give earnings from lease rent. These Railway lines, in lacs of kilometers, on both sides have boundaries/fencing, not being in perfect position, one productive suggestion is that : Bamboos be planted on both side of Railway Tracks to form boundary. This will guard Railway land from being encroached. The main purpose is to get bamboo produce, which will be available after one or two years and will continue for years together and give opportunities for conversion of bamboo produce for employment to nearby residents. Bamboo produce is very useful for making paper, pulp, fibre for textiles, furniture and for scofolding for construction for buildings. So Industries related to bamboos can get raw material locally, or may be transported by Railways to other industrial processing places. In Japan Bamboo furniture is made of unique quality. Visit the site : Watch "New Technique to Make Furniture out of Bamboo" on YouTube". This manufacture of bamboo furniture is excellent and will prefer indian and foreign markets. This is an idea to improve revenue of Railway earnings, employment generation, use of unutilized land, foreign earnings, creativity, saving forests and providing green visual scenery to Railway Train Travellers. If Railways take into consideration this idea manifold advantages are available. JP Madvaiya On Aug 28, 2018 1:23 PM, "P.K. Keshap" wrote: more

No free pass to anyone, provide reimbursement by concerned departments. more
Railway employees must not be given any passes. They get well paid , they should buy ticket and take reimbursement . In fact all railway employees must be given a prepaid card if they think they are so poor that they can't buy tickets and take reimbursement; which they can use to book the ticket and once the balance is exhausted; his allowance for the year are over. The unused portion like govt funds goes back to consolidated fund of india. Many may not need to travel, and this will save misuse of passes for colleagues. With this the complete usage can be easily accounted for in the balance sheet..Secondly it should be with aadhaar card only so that there is no impersonation or misuse. Anyone found misusing , should be punished with withdrawal of facility for three years straightaway besides the impersonator being sent to jail . Only when few railway employees are jailed that this gross and rampant misuse by the employees will stop. more
It is the lack of proper administration and unionism since Mr. George Fernades, who was leading their Union. The officials are afraid of Unions. more
