Lost Sensation in Legs

I when sitting for long duration get lost sensation in legs (not sure if this is frozen leg as referred to by another member). And then getting up and walking is not possible. Sometimes it lasts for 10 mins or so .

Is this orthopaedic issue or a neurological issue? more

The answer will depend on age, weight, height, posture of sitting, duration of sitting, any other leg, knee, orthopedic problem. If their is no other orthopedic problem it is more of neurological problem. Sit for short period, preferably with legs at horizontal or little above level. Take help of stool, if sitting on chair. If on bed, take back support from wall/any other object and stretch your legs on bed. Take Vitamin B12. If loss of sensation is with pain before or after with pain add Pregabalin. Do few yogic/other exercises where leg is lifted up for some time. Take 5 minutes bath in hot bearable water followed by 1 minute normal or little cold water on your both legs. Do it for 5-10 times. Take mud coat on your lower half body/full body for 45-60 minutes, preferably keep this portion in sun rays before washing with water. Sleep with legs slightly lifted by pillows. It will diminish loss of pain. more

Better consult an Orthopedic. My son had similar problem when he was preparing for his 12th class. Doctor advised to take a break every 50 - 60 minutes. Simple exercise helped. more
Better to consult doctor more
