Lowering cost of medical education in India

Evacuation of Indians in Ukraine has costs the tax payer a lot of money. We should find a way to lower cost of medical seat in India so children dont have to go to countries like Ukraine in the first place

The cost of medical graduation in Ukraine, for example, stands at about Rs 15 to 20 lakh for the entire duration of six years. In India, fees of private medical colleges can range between Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore for a 4.5-year course. The fees at government medical colleges in India range from a few thousand to a maximum of a couple of lakhs for the entire course.

Let us address the private medical college corruption and let big business house like Tata, Mahindra start medical colleges at reasonable prices.

Need to cut out politicians middle men and bring price of degree to 25 lakhs a year more

First of all, for all Govts, whether Centre or States FRREBEES must stop totally, then only Govt Kitty will have Reasonable amount to Spend on Medical Education. Secondly Reservation must stop or only 5% grace can be given to such candidates. Then also some deserving Candidates will get Admission. Thirdly Population Control is a must, this will reduce Govt's Liability. more
It seems from media reports that Russia has alleged that multiple bio weapon labs were operating in Ukraine funded by the West. This has raised suspicions because it requires two hands to clap. With so many Indian medical students returning, it might be prudent for the Govt bodies to investigate and confirm that no Indian medical students were part of this alleged bio weapon consipracy. The nightmare of Wuhan and Covid is still not behind us where the world has seen what destruction a bio weapon virus can cause. In medical matters better safe than sorry. more
Since availability of a hospital is a part of proper medical college set up, Govt should explore the possibility of having medical colleges at as many district Govt hospitals as possible, to address the need of the country. more
The reservation policy in our country is depriving the meritorious general category candidate of the opportunities in admission as well as in employment. In my opinion, the reservation policy should be modified by Government. The reservation category candidate should be given (say) 5% grace score in the entrance/competitive examination and then the candidate should be put in the general category for competition. The grace % could be debatable but should not be more than 10%. This will help all the categories.... more
Education should be the subject matter of Government. By allowing private players in this field, education system is ruined. Almost all the private education institutes are owned by politicians who do not open for charity (although they get land on lease at exceptionally low rates) as was done few decades back. So they mint money and generate and regularise black money. Of course, Government has put restrictions on admission process but the fees are exorbitantly high, making it out of reach for many and that's the reason why those who want to have a degree in medical sciences go abroad. One important aspect of such a situation is caste based reservation system and enormous facilities granted to this category in our country thereby depriving meritorious open category students of their right to education. more
