If one plays havoc with nature, nature plays havoc with them. Kodagu once upon a time was full of trees and dense forests has now become a concrete jungle with houses, apartments constructed as per one's whims and fancies. more
Whenever the govt runs an establishment like Bank, Airline or give contracts are given for road making, building constructions etc, the concerned government employees try their level best to prove that they all are useless. Because one can rest assure that none of it will be run with efficiency of any kind, as compared to the same work done by the private sector. True, that there are culprits also in the private sectors, but there is immediately a legal action initiated against them all. No legal action appears to have been taken in case of failures by the public sector undertakings. Recently, there was a blast at Mahul unit of BPCL. No investigation appeared in any section of media. Why Petroleum Minister was not hand-cuffed and arrested? Because that is the practice, if such an incident occurs in a private sector unit. Hold the Chairman-Managing Directors responsible, as if they had intentionally done something to make the blast take place. Crazy. Except for ISRO, Atomic Energy units, Postal services and Railways, government should withdraw from any and every sector of business. All along, year after year, the governments have been presenting deficit budgets, indicating that they cannot even run the government properly. Then why get into other businesses? When the first PM Mr Nehru started the PSUs, it was the need for that hour, which no longer exists. Then why have the PSUs at all? I am sure that in one’s personal life, every government authority is buying stuff, after checking for guarantee/warrantee. Why do they do the exact same thing, in their professional life? If that is done, and warrantee is demanded, then all the roads shall all be in very good condition. But nothing shall be done, unless legal actions are taken than only transferring the persons from one place to another. It is no more a punishment. more
