Maggots in my meal I had it yesterday!! :(

Though I don't really know, where all they came from however it’s unfortunate that i had it in my meal actually in my Lassi, had it after my lunch yesterday.
Just after a sip i realized something in my glass which i doubt and took out on with my finger and what I saw; it was very small white in color, started moving very slowly on my finger tip, it was a maggot…eeehhhhh…!!
Immediately i stopped my mom to drink it however she already had half a glass of it.
This is very annoying to know whether one or two or how many entered in my gut, so what I finally did; went to emergency ward GTB Hospital and informed the Dr. about it however he replied “need not to worry”…I mean I consumed those moving…alive… maggots and he is saying it is ok…!!! I told him to prescribe some medicines immediately and then he wrote two medicines name which I bought it then from nearby chemist shop and told him also the incidence. The chemist guy also said..” are bhaiya koi baat nhi..mar jaenge… ander zinda thodi na rehenge” but I insisted for prescribed medicines and had it one dose immediately and at night.
Now I don’t feel any changes yet but I doubt if anything goes wrong, what needs to be done further or what are the chances of cure or how harmful it is.
I actually discovered many maggots in that instrument which is used for making Lassi that is log one Grinder.
Any suggestions, please advise….?? more

I am not a professional on the subject, dear Deepak, but my gut feeling says that you need to do some more research on the subject. To abandon it here may not prove wise in the long run. And do share your findings with us, because this can happen to anyone of us at any time......good luck! more
Usually nothing happens, unless you are allergic to meat of maggots. more
Thanks Dr. appreciate your advise and any ill effect ?? though i am ok but still want to know. more
Any mixer/blender which is not used daily, specially during rainy season & not thoroughly cleaned and completely dried after use can have maggots. Before use every time it should be thoroughly rinsed with soapy water, rather run it for few seconds with soapy water so that any maggots/ microbes in caught between jar & its blades are drained out. then again run it with clean water before use. These days (rainy season) even if towels are not dried completely & not washed frequently, maggots can grow in towels also. Hence the importance of cleanliness. more
