Major COVID profiteering by private hospitals

Yes, the private hospitals are minting money and the government is a silent spectator. The judiciary is blind as usual and not interfering. Flexible approach is expected. more  

Private Hospitals have to take care of our politicians and public servants, if not they won't be allowed to loot the common man. i have never heard of a politician denied admission by Private Hospitals. From nowhere the beds will come, chief doctors will appear from the den, etc etc... So no rules will apply to them. more  

Private hospitals are corporate entities/ profit centers and their motive is to make money from unfortunate patients/sufferers. There is no humanity in private hospitals anymore. No Government has the will to sort them out. Only way is to have a compulsory universal medical insurance for all people by the government body so that any hospital can treat them and cannot over charge the government. more  

Dear Sir, It is a known fact that many private hospitals with Apollo heading the list are hopelessly dishonest. It is unfortunate that Health sector has degenerated under the patronage of various state governments under different political parties primarily congress (So called Dravidian Parties are equal if not bigger culprits) starting from mid 80's or early 90's and founding father of this destruction is Mr. Pratap Reddy. Needless to stress I or any members of my family including my elders of two generations found any difficulty in getting treatment from either the family Doctors or small nursing homes or even Public hospitals. I or my family found no difficulty in joining either Ruby Hall (Pune Nursing Home) or K.E.M hospital or even Sassoon Hospital during our stay between 1974 & 2001. They were within reach but are just about getting out of reach. This conversion of health care from service to business resulted in medical insurance. Governments of the day also resorted to covering their vote banks by Government insurance schemes such as Arogya Sri etc. instead of expediting creation of more health care facilities. Even such a nationalist government as the present GOI resorted to same trick eg. Ayushman Bharath. Forget about common man, even GOI servants & pensioners under CGHS find it very difficult to get treatment at AIIMS rates adopted by CGHS. Even if new public hospitals are set up, it is difficult to get Doctors as they are better paid in business hospitals. The solution though difficult but not impossible lies in starting effort to bring health care back to service and it is about time that such an effort is started. It will take time and will not happen immediately but once begun, results will be seen from 10th year and in 20 years or so we will achieve it. more  

The moral is 'DON'T GET COVID' by following the protocols strictly oneself. Best protection is to wear the mask properly while in public or even at home when someone comes. Ensure the same with all family members. Wash mask regularly - longer the duration of wearing, quicker the washing. Get vaccinated as soon as possible. Even if vaccinated, continue covid protocols until herd immunity comes in the nation, which can be after 70% of the population gets vaccinated. more
