Making a City Safe - Citizen Inputs

1. Electronic surveillance in cities should be increased
2. The police should be given more powers and they should not work under political pressure
3. Pedestrians should be given the first right on the inside roads
4. People should be educated about this through various campaigns
5. The number of good and sincere prosecutors should be increased
6. The process of getting bail by criminals should be scrutinized
7. All the criminal records should be updated on to a system so that crimes could be prevented/solved easily
8. The number of police personnel in each city should be increased
9. The infrastructure and equipment of police should be improved
10. Unsafe roads lead to accidents - potholes, lack of road dividers, faulty signals, illegal constructions should all be highlighted and people’s support taken to pressure concerned bodies to resolve issues asap
11. Every police station should have a Quick Response Team to deal with crisis situations
12. Children, senior citizens safety should also be given equal important as women
13. Adequate lights should be installed in public areas and dark areas should be minimized
14. Each city of 1M+ population should have at least 1 helicopter for air-surveillance
15. All traffic junctions should be fitted with high quality cameras and challans should be issued based on photographic evidence. more

First of all, police men (mostly) are to be honest and dedicated. more  
Crime and traffic safety is the crucial points . Summing it ,insist on lane driving ,use of indicators,scientific driving,non violation of traffic rules,policing ,friendly attitude of police in recording complaints ,immediate response of police ,rescue services ,ambulance services ,free communication facilities on high ways . more  
It is foot path more  
First priority shall be for the pedestrian to walk along the good path and also safe crossing. In other countries like Singapore there will be additional signal at all the cross roads for crossing the road.This will help the people for safely crossing the roads. Also the vehicle driving also will be comfortable and disciplined. Another point is to maintain the foot path exclusively for walking along the roads .No two wheeler shall be permitted this foot path For any violation , there sjould be trict and immediate fine and other punishments. If this is implemented definitely visible changes will be there. more
