Making Policing Smart - Citizen Inputs
1. Policemen should be equipped with advanced guns
2. Vehicles should be fitted with a dashboard camera
3. Their vehicles should also be fitted with a GPS system and a tablet computer though which information could be exchanged
4. The DCP’s office should be able to track the whereabouts of all his vehicles in the field on his computer or smartphone
5. An online reporting system must be implemented for were incident reporting
6. Community policing networks or circles should be implemented so community can tip off easily as well as policemen can seek assistance
7. They should be given radios with the latest technology so that they could talk to multiple people at a time
8. CCTVs cameras should be installed at traffic signals to capture the images of the law breakers
9. The vehicle registration should be linked to Aadhar so that the profile of the violator can be traced out easily
10. FACE Detection facility should be used and be linked to all public CCTV monitoring units
11. Night vision cameras should be installed on roads with alarm beep on monitor for crash, speed exceeding 100kph, violent movements etc.
12. All the public places should be covered by CCTV and connected to local police stations and should be monitored 24/7 by dedicated staff
13. Station Staff should proactively will look for suspicious activities and inform the beat police and flying squads to reach the spot in time to prevent/apprehend the culprits red handed
14. An all India central database needs to be created of criminals which can be accessed by all Police Stations
15. All policemen should have smart phones so that they can flash quick messages across the local/state/nationwide network system for quick actions like nakabandi, riots etc. more

This issue of Policing suitable to present issues of the Nation was in discussions since Oct. 2014. Latest is this and covered the requisites. Needed Reforms covering whole Nation is necessary. This also tenders responsibility and accountability for strict implementation of IPC, other Laws of the Land including Corruption, Contempt, Elections, Public Tranquility. Unless this is done, there will not be any USE OF SMART POLICING, TECHNOLOGY IMPLEMENTATION please. more

The basic qualification and training standards must be raised than now.The attitude ,empathy, and computer savvy ness and fresh approach to solving problems with out being corrupt. New breed must be trained and pilot units with these new ones must be allowed to function in selected zones without the old influence in that area. All new stations, zones , areas manned by these must be tried as the culture changes . They must be paid highly and protected from beauracratic and political influences. more

It has been observed that traffic violations are committed in front of Dial 100 Police vehicles. I suggest the Dial 100 vehicles should have a Mike and Speaker so that they can warn the traffic rules breakers while moving. If they are stationed at à¤à¥à¤°à¤¾à¤¹à¤¾à¥¤ They can use Mike to to make people aware about Helmets, car seat belts, wrong side driving etc. Such announcements will improve the visibility of Police.
