Mandatory Digital Weighing Scales
Can the dept of legal weights and measures mandate use of only digital weighing scales in India. Most fruit l/veggie vendors, local kirana shops use old weighing scale which is manual and most common ppl dont know if its 100 gms more ot less plus the magnet system.
4-5 brands can be certified or iso level can be defined and it should be must to have this scale for all.

We are going by the assumption that the old scales are obsolete and the electronic scales are more accurate. Let me tell you gentlemen that even electronic weighing scales can be manipulated. I have seen it in a Reputed Departmental Store where there were scales in Vegetables/Fruits as also loose grams and pulses but when I kept a 10 rupee coin weighing about 20 grams it still showed zero. By nature we Indians have a mischievious bend of mind. more

It is mandatory for all those using a weighing scale to carry their activities to get it verified and certified by the Weight & Measures Department periodically on paying a nominal fee Any defects found during verification are corrected by the department before certification. more

Yes I agree to Mr. Bharat lala. These kind of manual weighing machine is presence only in old kirana shops. The concerned department need action on such shops more
