Mandatory fasttags now for vehicles even if u travel in your neighborhood

FASTag has now been made mandatory for all cars and bigger vehicles which were sold before December 1, 2017. Fitness certificate will be renewed only if the vehicle has FASTag.

If I drive my vehicle just in my neighborhood and 5 km radius and never use a toll way, I should still get a fast tag so wallets and banks And govt can get some revenue.

This is forcing people for no reason making their their life inconvenient.

We need LocalCircles to escalate this for reversals. 75 year old senior citizens who go out to buy essentials only now must go to banks and get fast tag. Why?? more

Life Safety Became Road Safety requiring Fastag at Public Interest more
This may be to help financial institutions with minimum balance in fastag accounts. simple calculation is Minimum balance multiplied by number of vehicles. You may use or not. more
Govt order please. more
why are you worrying when you are not paying the toll. If You owned the car having value few lakhs , may be second hand also. But you can't afford Rs. 100 /00 fast tag which will be used any where. I think BHARAT is exceeding the limit of Freedom & Democracy. Make all rules mandatory & strict implementation , whoever may may be. For Buying Fat tag your life become uneasy ??? It is nothing but best example of Selfishness. more
That is the problem - all rules are not mandatory and strictly implemented for ALL. Why should people who are already being paid from taxpayer money be exempt from tolls? more
Many a Car owners are in the similar condition like Ruchika. Why should they obtain Fasttag and spend money and renew yearly. Suppose I use only once in a years a Toll Naka, then I can pay Cash/Card the required Charges. I Think Govt should look in to this aspect and come out with a solution. Probably this theory may hold good in western Countries as their Economy is much much better then that of India. more
