Mandatory Standards needed for blood banks
Both independent blood banks and those within hospitals dont follow any common standards. And this impact lives.
Can we please ensure that these standards are created.

There are guidelines and standards laid down for licensing of blood banks in India. The same is available at the following link https://www.nabh.co/bloodbank_standard.aspx The pricing of blood products is not within the purview of this organisation. Col (Dr) A P Gupta (Retd)

publish the present standards in all hospitals govt or private - rate lists next to the reception then why not ?

Blood Banks need a License from Drug Control department of the states. Please approach them for any irregularity.

Awareness amongst common public is essential. Can we, do something to make people aware about this? Will be real constructive work

Department of Consumer Affairs, Govt of India, and the organisations that grant Standards may take the burden of consumer awareness through regular publicity.
