Maximum Pesticide Residue
This is a serious issue that fssai needs to pay atttention on and they dont.
Farmers use substandard pesticide that are dangerous to human beings and a large amount of this residue is left on crops esp vegetables we consume.
In villages and urban poor there is limited awareness and there are both short term deaths due to it and long term health consequences.
No testing of samples is done and results communicated to people by fssai.
If fssai atleast did this sample testing in all states and sent a report to us once a month atleast something could change for better. more

Does it mean that branded pesticides are pro humane health? As I understand, the difference between standard & sub-standard pesticides is effective and less effective and both are equally dangerously harmful to humane health. As we know, the growth in our cultivatable land has not been able to keep pace with the rapid growth in our population, we had no option but to use fertilisers and other chemically produced manures in our agricultural fields in large scale to increase yield as well as to maintain the pace thereof. The standing crops grown under the process are being severely attacked by different kind of insects compelling the farmers to use all kind of insecticides, which are lethal to humane health. Similar is the case with various vegetables which are now being grown through out the year only with the help of various insecticides, as the vegetables grown out of season are more prone to severe insect attacks and heavy dose of insecticides is required to save them. more

Very true. This is one of the major cause of alarmingly increase in cancer cases in recent years. Action need to be taken on priority. One of the solution can be to increase the cost of pesticides. Multinational companies are minting money at the cost of human life. more
