MCD formation done

Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act receives President’s nod; with this notification, the North, East & South MCDs have ceased to exist having been subsumed into/by a single Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Attached details.

Can we please discuss what should be the priorities and charter of the new single integrated MCD. There is no better platform (independent) than Localcircles to do this. I would not trust Delhi Dialogue commission with this. more

It is immaterial whether we have one MCD or ten MCDs, unless there is accountability, sincerity and honesty in the system improvement in the functioning is a far cry. more
In my opinion, real change would have merged NDMC with MCD. Unless double standards of managing the city vis-a-vis Lutyens Zone NDMC (VIP area) and areas for rest of us aren't on a level playing field no amount of our discussion here is going to help us. more
It is good to have unified MCD but my question is similar to Dr Bansi Lal Bhan regarding where and how to pay tax of 2022-23. Already there is no online availability of all records though these were available in the existing system and I used to pay ONLINE. But after deployment of new software application, where one has to create new UPIC registration and online functionality was not working. Now after merger, again there will be issues. Request the authority and software developers to merge the databases to single DB with all records to be visible online. Since time is too short, the developing agency make available new uniform single application and payment to be strictly ONLINE based on existing UPIC number. It is doable and there is a need to issue direction for merging DBs (databases) and implementation of uniform application. Advisory in this respect may be issued for making payment for 2022-23 in time. more
I have been paying house tax for past 4 decades Squatters don't have to pay taxes People who have built illegal structures including toilets above and below don't have to take permission from government agencies and pay taxes What's the difference between jhuggi dwellers and people as squatters on government land in posh colonies? There's a SUV parked outside the unit of squatters more
Unified MCD must take its topmost priority sanitation and horticulture improvement. It is painful to state that colony streets are not cleaned on daily basis, what to talk about back lanes. Similarly, the parks under MCD are rarely attended to and colony residents have resorted to deploying private malis for the maintenance of park . However, the MCD fails to even lift the horticulture waste. crores of dues are pending in House tax arrears for pre 2000 period , but there is no effort by any official to recover the same and ordinary citizens keep struggling to have no dues more
