What we get in bottles as mineral water is simply filtered water and it has nothing to with any mineral. It will still contain all microorganisms which were originally present in it. Unless the govt. takes up the matter we will get only this type of water If all the minerals are removed by ion-exchange and required mineral are added to this demineralized water it becomes mineral water. That concept has never come to India. So many mineral water units are working in Kerala and the so called filtered water with the good looking mineral water is taken as such with full satisfaction by the customers. The only way to solve this is to carry our own water as the former rishis of India used by taking water in their kamandal. Otherwise drink only boiled items like tea, coffee or milk only from outside. Cold items which are not sealed and transferred to glass spreads hepatitis B, a very dangerous disease. That is also not good more
Though your views are really appreciable to ban McDowell Packaged Drinking water but the facts are different. Since the Unit where it is being packed must have Unsafe water i.e Non Potable and entire responsibilities lies on State Food Safety Department who has accepted microbiological Water Testing report that might be fake. Thorough investigation is required by FSSAI head Quarter to ascertain the reason of E-Coli in that particular area as there may be more cases in other food also. At least State Authorities has publisize this issue otherwise it again skipped like other major issues of Public Health. more
Will the members presume that FSSAI is just a certificate issuing authority and it has no power to initiate action ??? more
The so called mineral water is being mis used and sellers just add the name to attract the customer. It is high time that customers get good quality water for their need. Must check and use only water of repute firms. Since the profit is more many enter to make quick money without considering their business needs to sell quality product. more
Yes safety is a must. Let us not purchase Mcdowel water. more
