Based on your inputs on Doctors on trains, here are some of the key suggestions on how Medical Assistance can be provided on trains.

Kindly review them and add any additional inputs you may have.

We look forward to your inputs!

How Medical or First Aid assistance can be provided on trains?

1. Any doctor travelling on a train as a passenger should be required to mention it while booking their ticket
2. Doctors should be made to check a Doctor Identification Box during Reservation Process which makes them eligible for a flat discount on their own reservation, and in turn they would be required to help in case of a medical emergency in the train
3. Railways should take mobile numbers of all e-ticket passengers
4. In case of an Emergency Medical need, the 182 number could be called which in turn could broadcast from the nearest Division Control Center “need for medical assistance” to any Doctors on the train, the TTE on train, the Station Master at the next station and the upcoming station’s Emergency Response circle.
5. The emergency/disaster response community network should also be used such that the passenger/his family could post the need to Railways which can then broadcast it to the Emergency Response circle of the upcoming station
6. Every stationmaster must have a list of doctors available on call in close proximity of their respective railway stations
7. Paramedic/Medical Attendants traveling could also be identified and reached in case of Emergencies
8. There should be atleast 5-6 first aid kits on-board every train with a mobile number/person associated with each kit. In case of Emergency, the first aid kid should be made to move towards the passenger. more

There is always a section in each public body called fire and safety. It is not working properly in almost all government department. It give reason as short circuit. This is wrong. This occurs because there is no frequent examination of the system. As the time passes the protective plastic sheath wears out. As they come together so called short circuit occurs. The loss is thousand times the salary paid to that department. Either the department is shut or made responsible. It is not only with railways but with big corporates also. Is there any one to take care? Sent from my iPad more
First of all the railway staff e.g. TTE, RPF, GRP should be educated & civilized enough to do their duties instead of collecting money, harassing the passengers. Nothing can be changed rather improved without this & if it can be done 60% problems will automatically be solved. more
AT LEAST ONE RAILWAY DOCTOR SHOULD BE POSTED IN ALL TRAINS TO DEAL WITH MEDICAL EMERGENCY.THIS WOULD HELPING IN SAVING A PRECIOUS LIFE more
Please add two points - 9. All Railways staff, especially TTEs and Security staff, should be trained in Basic First Aid Course, CPR, etc. Learn from the airlines, the flight attendants are given such courses. It is not difficult, just simple standardized procedure based on educated common sense. 10. Please make sure that the First aid boxes are filled with unexpired and clean materials, not that some passengers or staff take it home. Weekly check is needed. proper training, control, vigilance and punishment for non-compliance all three are needed to make any system work; just and idea and start is not enough. more
First of all you should controlled TTEs as they are selling births even confirm births. On 06-Apr-2015 4:11 pm, "Ministry Of Railways" < support@localcirclesmail.com> wrote: > more
