Medical Certificate for school admission

Recently I had to follow certain process for my child's admission in school in Noida. I was requested to get the medical certificate. I politely asked admission in-charge why do we need to furnish the medical certificate? She said its mandated by CBSE.

We all know, doctors charge some where around Rs 500 to 700 without any medical check up to provide the medical certificate.

Why do we have rules which can be easily by passed by doctors and parents. Its burden on parents. How can we suggest govt authorities that this mandated rule should be revoked..

What does the member of this forum have to say about this rule?

Thanks
Umesh

Mr Umesh that is why you learn from things and not stifle or bog down progress. People need to get together with other parents and make the change. You live in a free country where we need to stop demanding government to do things for us all the time. And yes I have lived and traveled to other countries to know a bit more.
Govt. wants to maintain Good Health of their Citizens and hence Govt. Hospitals standard to be maintained. Every year there should be free Check ups of every Child for at least 12 years with Basic MEDICINES GIVEN FREE as Needed. No Certification for school is Needed, its a Loot.
There is no guidelines by the government and as such it should be withdrawn.
First of all, why must a medical doctor give a clean chit of health to a driver WITHOUT a check-up? And that too, without eye-and-vision test, which is the most important part of human body of driver of a vehicle on roads? THIS MUST CHANGE !!!
When medical certificate can be obtained without any medical check up for driving license, what is the use asking for it for school admission.
We lived in Singapore for several years. There, you're supposed to renew your driving licence every two years, after your turned 60.

Eye and vision check-up was mandatory. We paid for the check-up. No two ways about it. Rule was Rule....it's the same even now, after over twenty years. Though I hear that now they issue driving licence for a period of five or more years.
Haha, you hit the nail on the head !
