The minimum taxable income is increased from 2 lakhs to 2.5 lakhs and one can save a maximum of 1.5 lakhs which comes to 4 lakhs more than that everybody has to pay the tax. You have mentioned that majority of the people are lower grade and whose monthly gross salary is more than 21000 are coming under tax either he/she has to pay tax or save money. Central government employees contribute for CGHS medical expenses as per their grade pay every month. At the time of retirement one has to contribute ten years subscriptions and at the time of my retirement I have contributed Rs.39000/- one time payment for myself and my spouse to get out patient facility of a sum of Rs.25000/- per year for both of us but not in-patient treatment from the autonomous body and the limit is increased from this year to Rs.40000/-. The subscription is not revised as per DA in every 6 months. more

Sir you would know better than me. The minimum taxable income is being increased whenever their is increase in DA. The majority of the people in 40 lakh govt employees belong to lower grade. The taxable amount of the lower grade people will be very meager for which they would show their monthly rent, house EMI, insurance policies and attractive investments which gives you tax exception including PPf. Can you show me who pays the Tax. For medical expenses you have to pay an amount as CGHS(for medical expenses). Do you know how much central govt employees contribute in it? if you know please tell me how much govt employees contribute in it, do the medical reimbursement is availed only by the employees who avails(pays) in this scheme and when was the amount for medical claim revised recently. is the medical amount deducted in your salary is revised in percentage wise like you get DA every 6 month to 1year???????????????? more

Central government is extending medical facilities to 40 lakh serving employees and the 50 lakh pensioners approximately who are all availing the medical facilities are not known and but all of them are tax payers. Some of the pensioners are not covered with the medical facilities after retirement and some of them are availing with their children, and some of them are availing the medical facilities through Health Insurance Companies. The serving employees medical facilities are already lowered one. The Central government is already extending so many facilities to the common people and how many are all really the tax payers. more
