What is the issue here? The earlier price was Rs 495 including all taxes and now post GST, it is 544 due to increase in GST rate, since the product is being sold post GST though it was manufactured pre GST. And there was a Govt notification for that also. more

In this case MRP was inclusive of excise duty + Vat what was expected was that trader should have reduced the amount of excise and vat and then added the GST. But in this case trader has simply done some back calculation and tried to sell the product at the MRP. in the bargain the consumer is not getting his due share concession which may have accrued due to implementation of GST. more

This is a clear evidence that the prices are getting higher post GST implementation as against our PM statement that the prices would be reduced due to GST. The election 2014 had been the most misleading one and unfair practices, the post election period is also witnessing the misleading the public due to fake statements. What is the complaint in the current post. If it is the separate sticker for MRP, it is allowed subject to the condition that the manufacturer or the distributors should have advertised in the paper about the revised paper. Reffering to the comments of Shri Jayakumar Ji, it is a hard fact that for taking any action against any violation, a basic complaint would be needed. Suo-motto action is practically seems to be ruled out in our Indian system. If the concerned authorities take action after the complaint, we need to feel that we are lucky enough. more
