Contrary to the belief that prices of medicine, disposal surgical items and medical equipment would come down after the GST roll-out, all these items have become costlier by 6% to 10%. The prices of medicines and surgical equipment have increased by 5% to 6% on an average. Most of the medicines, which had 2% to 5.5% VAT, are now charged 12% tax under the GST regime.
In many other areas also, costs have increased. Is this how it was supposed to be? more
I had said this a month ago that GST will make everything very expensive. I am shocked that our circles have not been successful in advising the government. more
Definitely. the price of Medicine shot up post GST by 10%. Where is the generic Medicine shop, which govt announce to open. I did not see any such outlet in existence. more
After DEMONATISATION AND IMPLIMENTATION OF GST ITs BECOME DIFFICULT FOR Senior Citizens. Doctors have raised their fees by 20% earlier doctor who was charging consultation fee 500/ has increased his fee to 600/. Medicine price has been higher by 6 to 10%. Income from bank interest is going on decreasing. Our Govt has shut down his eyes and ears towards these . Govt is happy only to see the tax collection is higher. At the time of implementation of it was said by PM that due to implementation of GST the goods and services will be at the same price but no body is caring. more
I would like to most humbly express as below: 1-In a country where majority of population either does not have access to "good medical care" (by "good medical care" I mean that least which is made available to Netas, Ministers, MPs, MLAs) or cannot afford it, is it not a real, real, real, real ... shame that these Netas, Ministers, MPs, MLAs who would like themselves to be worshiped like Gods, conveniently steal the facilities that truthfully belong to common public. 2-I would like to challenge all to please justify why treatment to the Netas, Ministers, MPs, MLAs should be provided for free in AIMS and why should common citizens should be asked to cooly pay their taxes and die without medicines and treatment? 3-Therefore, if the BJP Govt. really cares for the masses (except garnering votes from them - votes of likes of Ambais and Adanis just don't count their number is negligible although the wealth that they can spare for buying votes is practically limitless), it must find ways and means to drastically reduce the cost of Medicines and Medical Drugs as well as treatments such as Dialysis inHospitals for persons suffering from kidney disease. more
