Mercedes cars - should product safety be looked into

3 accidents have come to light in recent times. Cyrus Mistry died in a Mercedes. PM Modi’s brother had an accident last week, again a mercedes and today Rishabh Pant’s car caught fire, again a Mercedes.

Shouldn’t the consumer or transport ministry demand safety data from Mercedes and if the cars are safe for Indian roads.

Its possible that once people buy Mercedes they love speeding but someone has outght to look into this from a product safety and recall perspective.

If found guilty, a class action must follow against the company and all such cars in India recalled. more

Another Mercedes accident seems like in Noida this time more
We have lack of discipline at all levels. Unless this is controlled, these things will keep on happening and may be more. more
Seriously? That is your perspective? Someone was drunk, another was careless and the road construct and speeding in the third case and you waste time by posting rhetorical, unsustainable questions without any data? Wow... more
Rishabh while driving dozed off, need one say in comfort, as he himself has claimed, and that caused the accident! This proves that, if anything, the car provides comfortable ride and smooth ride, wherein the car's shock absorbers cushion . We tend to have an inside out look at the situation, which becomes easy when the car is of a foreign make. How about an outside in outlook, with road design, or speed limits, naming some parameters, also being taken into consideration. more
The accidents were due to rash driving/dosing off by the driver. We cannot blame the cars for the same. Mercedes is an excellent car in all respects. more
