I read this today and this is so very concerning. 82% of tap water in Delhi has microplastics. My question is does anyone know what tests our municipal bodies are doing before water is supplied to our colonies and homes. Is there a potable water standard that mcd's follow. What is it?
Would be really nice if some from govt or mcd also responds... more
This is result of a new study and reported as a worldwide phenomenon. US is at the Top. 83% of samples all over Five continents are reported to be having micro plastic. Yes there is a standard by IS codes and the international agencies which NDMC follows and they have a dedicated water testing lab at vinay marg. I don't know about other MCD bodies but NDMC lab has latest equipment and test are done properly. I can say this because i myself worked in water testing at that lab itself during my project in University. more
Microplastics are a new threat, particularly in so called advanced countries, but surprising that Delhi has it! What is the source? Can you please also give the original source of this info? Thanks. more
