Milk price hike survey

The LocalCircles milk price hike survey is super accurate when it says people are getting squeezed with increases in milk prices.

My maid in Mumbai has cut her monthly quantities in half as they are now getting 1 packet daily instead of 2 (only for children) Parents have stopped having tea at home.

I was also surprised that instead of bringing out this squueze people are going through, the TOI paper was busy in doing PR for Amul and Mother Dairy who were justifying how they are right to increase prices if milk by 8 rs per liter in last 2 years and the survey was wrong.

No wonder anyone under 40 doesn’t believe in reading these papers. I am unsubscribing TOI from July 1. more

In India a real Inflation is about 10%.Serving and Pensioners get their Increase by way of Agreements. What about Non Pensioner Senior Citizens? Is Govt Bothered about them? more
I have a serious doubt about the actual quantity in which milk is collected from cows and buffalos , and the acutal quantity of the milk distributed. Common citizens see that there are many brands getting added in the market. Does that indicate that milk collection has increased? what are the causes? common man actually does not very well know how packaged milk is processed, from milk collection to processing and packaging. Availability of many brands is the indication of high profitability in this business . Can anyone share links to information available about these topics? with regard to price increase I feel that the increase should be associated with rise in cost. if due to rainy season the food for cows and buffalos is going to be available in more quantity than it is available in summer, what are the causes of price increase and why they do not get stable? more
USA is free market and the prices are fixed by sellers taking demand and supply as well local taxes into account. Milk with 2% Fat is almost one $ per litre which means over Rs. 80 per litre. The price varies taking into account the shelf life as well. A discount is offered when the shelf life is about to end. Mr. Sahaje has rightly said that we have singled out Milk for small proce rise but are mum on groceries where there is more fluctuation. more
Price of many items will rise in spite of stable oil price due to climate change and diseases....hope it can be understood when you go out at 90% humidity and 40 degrees outside temperature....more ACs...more CO2? more
