Mineral Water bottles sold above MRP in most place
I've been buying water bottles at many places like Adyar Ananda Bhavan in Bangalore and everyone sells the 1 liter water bottles with MRP 19/ 20 as this plus GST on it.
When asked about this with the guys at the cash counter, they say pls ask the management as this is coming in the system whats entered, we don't have any idea.
There are small bakeries and shops that too sell these water bottles at rounded off prices than whats on the MRP.
Many other shops also sell their products at the prices over and above the pre GST prices like a Dosa earlier used to be 30 or 40 Rs now they charge the GST to it, rather than selling the same including the GST at 30/40 Rs which should be the case.
Can the government not make it compulsory to have the prices verified on all these kind of attrocities. more

If GST is charged over & above MRP, oppose it and avoid purchasing. As far as eating in hotels & restaurants is concerned, Vat was being charged to total value of a bill prior to introducing GST. Are we not making too much of hue & cry in the name of GST? more

Kapoor's Cafe in Thubarahalli, Bengaluru also charged GST on Water bottle. This GST was over and above MRP of Rs. 20/-. Their GST number mentioned on bill is GSTIN 29AA0FK2770R1ZC. more

Except for the Government claiming for the past 6 months that the expenses of common man will come down post GST ,there is no such reality. Eating out in a restaurant before GST implementation, there used to be NO TAX charged on a non A/C restaurant and takeaway's. LAst weekend my wife and me went to a non a/c restaurant and where charged 18% GST . when questioned he said as the premises has both a/c & non a/c and comes under one single GST number it is charged at 18% including takeaway. So,where is the cost of living come down post GST???? more

Yes,Wait till they start the Penalty clause,Any new system 4 the country will naturally have sum teething problems more
