minimising crossings of tracks at stations.

No doubt the railways are concerned about safety of people at first and second the impact of such misaps on the routine functionng of railways.
many of the people who cross are aware of the savings in time they get and risk on this. this is specially when they are to catch connecting train and Railways had to admit that overbridges are real challenges for people and using them is strenous. My feeling is that display at your risk is just sufficient. treating is as a crime has the following effects:
1. additional load on the railway police
2 .good potential for RPF corruption (they exploit fully)
3. the track crossing people are to concentrate on the train movement and movement of RPF personnel.
I witnessed a lady gettting involved in road accident while crossing a centre median not because she could not make it ,but it was the sight of a policeman which had created tremandous pressure on her.
The best alternate would be please do not impose fine and punishable and let it be known to all. Pursuade people and provide elevators at important stations. You can make it on PPT model as the advertisement revenue would amply justify the investment. more

There must be sufficient rail over bridge at stations. more
there is need to stop all trainsat Maninagar a suburb of Ahmedabad ,previous MLA seat of the present prime minister.it is because all trains have to wait somewhere before they reach to Ahmedabad (kalupur station)as there is no vacancy of platform at there immediately. many a train follow each other before they leave maninagar station hence 2/3 minutes official halt would not cause any loss to the  time-table.even otherwise, as said, all trains have to be slow down near maninagar for one reason or another. some trains are forcibly stopped by pulling up the chain.it is a wastage of time.if the trains are stopped at Maninagar, most of the passengers(80%) would got down because it is a major BRTS station, having good connectivity through out the city. All trains would stop at platform no. 1 which is easy for getting down for all includingchildren/women/old/ill etc and they would not need to climb a staircase.on the other hand the load at foot overbridge and platforms at Kalupur(ahmedabad)would reduced automatically. no one would need to cross the platforms/bridges also.ajay parikh  ANAND (guj)05 may 2017 On Sunday, March 12, 2017 10:28 PM, Subramanian Venkataraman wrote: more
At level crossing , everyone is running Marathon, if someone is able to cross the barricade before it comes down fully, he feels as if he has won marathon. The patience level has drastically reduced among people. Best option is to have flyover, similer to the one which is there Near ITC, Fraser Town , Bangalore more
Is there no responsibility of the people crossing tracks? But yes, a warning message is desirable and to me adequate. more
escalators could reduce the problem to minimal..... best regards, VS ________________________________ From: Subramanian Venkataraman Sent: Sunday, March 12, 2017 4:53 PM To: vs20@live.in Subject: New post "minimising crossings of t..." in [Make Railways Better] more
