Is this ad for the poor Aaam Aadmi or for everyone in the country? Delhi police has miserably failed in implementing all the rules of the law equally for all high and mighty. I have never seen a DTC bus, which often violets traffic rules, being detained. I have never seen someone with red/blue/yellow lights being stopped for jumping signals. Honking and zig/zag driving is never noticed at all. Can Delhi Police enforce lane driving in peak and lean and jam traffic alike? Can Delhi Traffic Police challan a violator, who is connected to an MP, MLA, ministers and their own kith/kin? more
Sir, apart from this newspaper advertisement do we have some formal notification issued by the Transport Department, GNCT Delhi in this regard. As from the experience in past it is seen that on few earlier occasions, the Traffic Police had on their own increased the fines for traffic violators in light of upcoming revised CMVRs being tabled in Parliament at that time. Request you to please upload the copy of such notification here or on your website and provide a link to it over here. more
Headlights and horns are also quite often misused in Delh-NCR. Headlights of the bright, blue HID/LED variety - which I understand is illegal - is used with impunity. Dippers are not used and can be the cause of accidents at night. Again, HORNS blare and hurt the eardrums. Honking is considered a right, even in a traffic jam. Another alarming trend is the use of siren-like horns by private owners to get their way through traffic hassles. What is the traffic police doing about these dangerous, yet often ignored, road menaces. more
What about driving on the wrong side? What about the Autos that carry 8-10 persons when they are only permitted for 2-3 persons by the RTO? What about following some lane discipline? These need to be policed too.. more
