Misleading Ads
Recently read that the Consumer Ministry is trying to hold the celebrities accountable for misleading ads. I think instead of parliamentarians decide what should be the punishment, citizens should decide what it should be? Can we all give our inputs and may the officials from the consumer affairs can use it.
My vote is for no jail term for celebrity but a hefty fine and celebrities should not do ads in certain categories like Pan Masala, Ciggerates, Alcohol. IT has negative effect on children. more

Celebrities should not encash their good will by participating in ADS at the cost of their followers/fans/public more

celebrities should not misuse their popularity in advertising something which is not good for their fans/ public who have made them celebrities. They are expected to be sensible and human . Found wrong should be heavily penalised and that should be a good lesson for them. more

Why only celebrities, what about the ad agency which creates such misleading ads then newspapers which publish such ads should also be penalized. But the company which manufactures the product and approves such advertisements shall be punished first and license for manufacturing concerned item shall be revoked for six months at least. more

No jail is legitimate but penalty should be at least 100 times of he/she earned from that AD. more
