Misleading by water purification cos

Water Purifier industry is almost a semi scam

Mis-selling, fear mongering by both trade and brands. And looting in the name of service

Aquaguard, Kent, Pureit are all the same

In Mumbai, you don’t need a RO. UV is more than enough. RO is needed only when TDS is high in water

But no brand will call this out as they make more money selling RO more

The leading brands of water purifiers are selling machines with both RO and UV filtration and with just UV filtation. RO works well with hard water. UV helps to make the water clean of impurities. So consumers should be made aware of their necessities before they execute their purchase decision. This could be the responsibility of the government. more
Pureit classic uv is not RO but has uv. You are right, RO is filtering out essential minerals and wasting a large amount of water. more
Right, on top of it, they take a huge amount for AMC and do nothing...even keep the UV out of order which is essential.....RO is also wastage of water where it is not required more
Yes You are right. Sometime back I wanted to purchase a water purifier and I did a lot of study on this. If you want only UV, there is not much choice available. They ultimately sell you RO. more
I had aquaguard classic for 25 years, which is simple with candles, which is available viz: OLD WINE IN NEW BOTTLE. Now i have Dr. Magna, UV one. After several management change, they spiked their maintenance charges and direct servicing. more
