Missing links in citizenship amendment bill

Glad to see this bill passed in parliament. However, this bill seems to also discriminate amongst the Minority Hindus as Srilankan Tamil Hindus have been left out of the bill purview. Srilankan Tamil Hindus had been / are being persecuted in Srilanka. Many Srilankan Tamils are living in refugee camps in TN and are awaiting permanent residency in India. Similar is the case with Ahmeddiyas and Bohra community who are not considered as Muslims in Pakistan and are being tortured on daily basis.
Let the government look into this matter and include these communities. more

Please read my earlier post supporting CAA. My support to this act will continue provided all illegal immigrants irrespective of their religion are deported back to their country of origin. The only solution to the minorities issues in India as frequently interfered by Pakistan ( An Islamic state) is UCC (Uniform Civil code) as this act will bring all Indian citizens under one common Law. We need to emulate the laws of prosperous European and North American countries where there are no issues related to Minority. This act will also eliminate Vote bank politics played by our political parties to come to power. This act can also be supplemented by another act related to reduction of population growth by cancelling reservation in jobs and colleges and ration card subsidies to over populated families across the country. For this to happen we need caste wise census to proceed. more
My view is that no refugees must be made citizens. We have enough population as it is. All those who have entered the country illegally for economic reasons (most of them from Bangladesh) must be identified and deported or if that is not possible, kept as prison labour and prevented from breeding further. more
This is real Constitutional SOVEREIGNTY and Security . We shall not forget the Civil Protests IN AMERICA . TWO TIMES AMERICAN CITIZENS FOUGHT AGAINST Sheltering OTHERS . more
India and Citizenship of India, PAK Afghanistan and Bangla ARE DIFFERENT from others. Articles 5,6,7,8, and, 9 MUST BE THE POLICY IN RECOGNISING Citizenship Permanently . INFILTRATIONS NEGLECTED GROSSLY EVEN EXPERIENCING JK and POK ISSUES. The Policy adopted in CAA whenever it is must be in terms of the above Articles of Indian Constitution . more
I have been reading and watching a lot about the ongoing violence in major cities of India, protesting against the CAA and NRC,, although the NRC is yet to come. Possible reasons of this widespread violence are as under. 1) while I personally support giving refuge to persecuted sub continent individuals, The reasoning of this bill itself is incorrect. The bill provides citizenship to all religions except Muslims who are living in India since Dec 2014 and prior to that, only from three countries which have been formed on the grounds of religion Islam. This is the biggest mistake as Srilanka, Malaysia also should have been included as Indian origin people in these countries also face persecution which is evident from the statements issued by the Malaysian premier. 2) People are not fully familiar with the bill and it's consequences, which the HM and PM have clarified that this has nothing to do with Indian citizens irrespective of the religion they follow. 3) Anti social elements, politically motivated individuals are evoking fear in the minds of people. 4) We have lot of traitors in our country who are well wishers of our neighbours and can even pose threat to our country by any means. 5) Protestors include people of Hindu religion also are trying to take this opportunity to oppose the government and malign them. 6) There are lot of people in our densely populated country who are absolutely idle and have empty and criminal minds. Would also say that citizenship to Muslim foreignor can be given only if he/she is married to an Indian or is a celebrity like Adnan Sami who was earlier a pak citizen. The reason for the above is that Pak and Bangladeshi people have a country for themselves whereas other minorities do not have any option except India. I hope the government will act strategically by including bohras, Ahmeddiyas, Malaysian and srilankan Indians do that Protestors are tamed and they calm down as using force always do not stop violence. more
