monitoring Cable Operators by TV companies
Better Ministry of Broad Casting control the advertisements in TV channels and cable operators. The TV channels may be taxed an apporpriate amount and allow the public to view all the channels without extra payment. Cable oeprators may also be paid by TV channels and not by the public. Since TV channels are getting huge revenue from the advertisements, they can afford to maintain the cable operators in all the cities instead of charging and giving inconvenience to public by cable operators. more

Life OK and Sony hv ads running for abt 5 mins.They don't hv countdowns for the first 2 mins. Ads shd be restricted to 6 mins per 30 mins. 7pm to 10pm is peak time , so channel and ad costs are more, as viewership is high. Billing shd be for 1 channel only and not for bokey(bouquet). The STB must fit all cables like SIM cards.It must be replaced free , in case of failure upto 3 yrs. Even existing STBs shd be covered. When I hv a HD STB, why shd I pay extra for HD channels?...TataSky. TRAI has to look into this.It is another matter that it never looks into anything. FY 14.9.17 more

I recall TRAI had come out with a regulation sometime in 2013 regulating duration of advertisement in per hour of broadcasting. It was laid down that the broadcaster can have maximum duration of 12 minutes advertisement per hour of the broadcasting cycle. In my view the broadcaster are not following as an example I saw yesterday that the duration might be even exceeding 30-40 minutes of duration in the news channel. more

The TV channels broad cast serials with lots of advertisements and these serials are being broadcasted for decades as thousands of episodes more than the number of episodes of Ramayan by Ramanand sagar and Mahabharat by BR Chopra making people sit glued to the TV there by wasting manpower as they will not be attending to any other work. The ad money may be shared between the channel and the serial producer. The Government should restrict the number of episodes or the time period of a year for the serials. more

Good suggestion. The CAS introduced by government has been a total failure as customers are not allowed to choose the TV Channels they would like to watch in spite of paying more than what they were paying prior to CAS. The CAS has resulted in benefit to Set Top manufacturers and Cable TV operators. All appeals to Government to implement CAS as was promised have fallen on deaf ears. more

My complaint is also about local cable operators and DISH TV,the minimum package has 100 advertisement channels and 6 viewers channels.
Extra English package total we pay Rs 350/- and still we do not get REPUBLIC/BBC/ and many Movie channels.
Them the establishment + profits is the criteria.
We are under dogs. more

I have so far utilized the services of IPtv(BSNL), Reliance Big Tv & Tata Sky(currently) besides earlier having used the services of local cable operator. In Tata Sky and Big Tv in case of rains there would be no channel reception...whereas even during heavy rains, the cable operators still manage to operate and give you channels. So it seems that the big entertainers are at the mercy of weather and it is big question mark on whether their equipment can overcome this lacunae. more

Yes sir,there is no proper readdress for customer grievances. Profit of yester- day and to day payment are separate,as that money is already eaten by the gone managers.
