Indian government try to uplift the sale of generic medicines than the branded one. But on mostly generic medicines the manufacturer print the MRP more than 10 times of the actual cost on strips/box. It means customer get the medicine obviously cheap but not as much as he should deserve. The margin of MRP and wholesale price is about 10 times, and the retailer get the maximum benefit of that. more
The department concerned should immediately look into the matter and severe action be taken against the manufacturers and ensure that the government directives for arriving at the MRP of each product is meticulously complied with by all manufacturers. No one in the country right from the 'chat wala to the richest one' want to do their business on honest lines. Rather they are always in search of ways & means to deceive the consumers and the government and earn out of the way. Under such circumstances, the government machinery requires to remain vigil all the time (24x7x365) and initiate quick stern action against those found guilty of flouting laid down rules and laws to deceive common men and the government. more
Its a nexus between retailers, doctors and pharmaceutical companies. Unless ALL doctors are compelled to write generic medicines, this problem will not get resolved. more
!0 times more than the sale price, the MRP is misleading. some sellers are selling at MRP by giving as substitute to branded medicines. Since the MRP is printed customers are help less. more
It is high time that the retailer is prevented by charging high for cheap price he paid at whole sale price. It should be made mandatory that the whole sale price is printed in the bill or whole sale price must be applicable if the quantity is more than particular units of the medicine say one strip instead of one capsule. This type will definitely reduce the price. Fix retail price for minimum quantity for sale and fix wholesale price if it is more than the retail quantity. more
