Morphy Richards also profiteering

All members in the circle must note that all brands were supposed to lower MRPs after Govt reduced rate. Selling prices can be lower than mrp and are immaterial.

Attached example is of morphy richards geyser of 25 ltr. MRP was 9990 before gst was cut from 28 to 18%. Its still the same today. Morphy Richards and its seller V Mangal enterprises is clearly profiteering. The new mrp should be in 8900 range.

We are giving too much importance to MRP and wasting our energy, as MRP itself has become a source of cheating the consumers making them fool in the name of discount! Even prior to GST there was a huge difference ranging from 25% to 35% between the MRP and the actual selling prices of many items, particularly, electrical and electronic items. Edible oil packages are always sold at a much lower price than the MRPs printed thereon.. Many other grocery items are also sold at much lower prices than the indicated MRPs and its clear that the government has neither any control over the system nor it ever makes any efforts to regulate it. In the process, none of the consumers is aware of the amount he was swindled by the retailers, which differs from retailer to retailer. Under such a situation, I do not find any justification of making so much of hue & cry for MRP. In the instant case, the selling price of the item is less than your expected MRP after reduction in GST. There are no reasons to be complacent that the retailer has given such huge discount from his pocket. It must be the differentiate between two rates and a small part of the retailer's margin to garner his selling by attracting the consumers in the name of heavy discount, as we, indians, have the tendency of running after the name of discounts without being reasonable. more
