Buttermilk is no doubt useful , but made by Curd diluted 4 to 5 times with water. Another simple home remedy is Soak Overnight 20 to 30 Long Black raisins having seeds (dried black grapes with seeds)in a200 ml warm water ,drink the water early morning and then eat the grapes slowly by properly chewing the seeds, preferably with walnut ~ 2 Kernels.within 8 10 days you will feel good. more
Naman ji, your daughter has got several good suggestions Stomatitis, Glossitis, gingivitis, all of them collectively called Mouth Ulcers. As a medical student she should understand now , so that when she becomes a full fledged Dr. she is likely to get several cases coming to her . There are several causes , the first and foremost is B complex difficiency that is Riboflavin B2 iwith folic acid . Next is stress and tension , then the viral herpes infections . This has a quality of recurring periodically . If it is established that B complex difficiency ,go for therapy . Now the trend is towards prescribing Lactobasilus along with B complex therapy .As Dr. Prabhakar advised curd in empty stomach. This is essential for our intestinal health that will prevent the ulcers in the mouth .The curd encourages pro biotic activity particularly in the ascending colon [immediately after the small intestine ends]. To assist the growth of this bacteria roughage like cabbage , beans banana stem are advised to be taken ; so that these not fully digested food goes to the Ascending colon which forms the nutrition for the pro biotic bacteria which helps in getting rid of the ulcers in mouth . Then of course the herpes angle. No antibiotic tretment . But keep mouth clean with Gargle with rock salt or any other mild antiseptic [ listerine ] thrice a day. That will keep the infection under control. If it is stress once again as Dr. Prabhakar suggested , Pranayama with meditation . Try out curd first in the morning , my wife got over it 2 years back and still continues to take 100 ml. curd made into 250 ml. buttermilk and takes forts in the morning. more
