Present leaders are those who wants us to do the welfare work and they want to loot.Leaders do not have the feeling of nationality. Member of Loot Association & Member of Poly(corruption)trics come for their development not the development of society& related things. To make Swachh Bharat the politicians will have to be Swachh first.I feel corruption is gene related factor. We may have to work scientifically on it e.g. we may have to bring the gene of nationality from Japan. more
The core of the problem behind all the mess India is in is CORRUPTION at a mega scale. Our Sahib Mentality is the root cause. Until we can design systems to combat that mentality, we are not going to realize our expected results. How do we fight corruption? This is relatively simpler than what it really looks like on its face. We do not need any new laws. we need to make sure that the existing laws are followed through. We have to install mechanisms to verify that the projects are competed properly. The auditing has to be flawless as much as possible. Satayamev Jayate showed us clearly how the paperwork is manipulated to show the acceptable results. Recently Chief Minister Punjab pulled wool over the eyes of the world when he showed the world had properly verified results of moving produce to the warehouses at a very high cost using the most modern equipment where as only a fraction of the manual labor was used to accomplish poor results. He got a Padam shree out of it and the public lost a ton of funds to his party or personal bank accounts held in trust some where not readily known to public. My India is Mahan. With a specialty in shielding the truth from public view, it is still advancing. Just imagine for a moment if the corruption was to stop for only 1 hour a day, where this country will be in a few days. We will become the envy of the world if we let go the Sahib Mentality and did our job honestly without expecting or demanding extra Baksheesh. more
In general, MPs should be held accountable for the development of their constituency. The KPIs should definitely include - growth in literacy, safety of women and children, increase in employment and income, improvement of law & order, improvement & extension of water supply, overall cleanliness, etc. And, this accountability should go beyond elections, i.e., if the MP does not meet targets for his / her constituency he/she should resign immediately (as a rule) and elections held for that constituency. That is how Indian democracy should evolve beyond just 5-yearly elections. The same should be implemented for the MLAs as well. more
