MRP Enforcement Circle under formation

Based on your requests and inputs, we are in the process of enabling a separate circle - MRP Enforcement for the Department of Legal Metrology so consumers can share any issues related to MRP Non Compliance, Labeling and Packaging Issues and Weights and Measures.

We look forward to your inputs on how this circle can be utilized to enable citizens to report and for the local legal metrology teams to be able to take action on the ground.

MRP IS SERIOUS MATTER. WHY THE BUSINESSMEN WILL NOT GIVE ANY MRP ACTUALLY, WHEN WE GO MARKET, WE FIRST MET WITH MRP. THIS SHOULD BE PROTECTED ON SALE PRODUCTS. MRP Enforcement is a secondary activity. Primary activity is to define transparent mechanism to determine MRP ex-factory/production place. Cost of marketing/sales effort should not become hidden margin in MRP for manufacturers/producers or their selling arms. It can be elaborated further with basic understanding of Bottom-up approach to Pricing in the hands of consumers with a bit of socialistic approach. more

Biggest MRP violation in many un branded or not very well known branded products sold on MRP (specially in Leather goods accessory products) and China import products. Weights and measures department should start doing random purchase from online platforms to verify MRP violations because without buying department will not reach to seller who is selling. Products are coming without any declaration on carton and seller write any MRP on online platforms and than offer 50% discount on MRP. This is a very big misguiding issue and cheating with buyers.
