Thanks to all the good efforts of your circles on remdesivir black marketing menace and overcharging, GOI has intervened Nd MRP of Remdesivir has been lowered. Availability though is a different matter altogether.

The Govt. should enforce covid appropriate behaviour. If this disease spreads further, shortage of beds, oxygen and remdesivir will increase alarmingly and the number of casualties is bound to shoot-up. more

MRP was not the problem; but the greed of many pharmacies and hospitals is the problem due to their overcharging well above the the old MRP. Is there any evidence to state that Remidesivir helps in containing covid in infected patients? I haven't seen any such document even from WHO more

Government chacked out plans to make availability in all hospital chemist shops and dispensation based the hospital doctor prescription. Other hospitals where there is no chemist shop, based on hospital doctors prescription, chemist shops permitted to stock and sell, will be referred for dispensation. This procedure may work well and patients kind can get the medicine as per the price cap. more

This is a very good thing to happen. My enormous appreciation for the Local Circles and especially many of the very active members who have been flagging issues constantly and all those escalating them to higher authorities. Also credits are due to the political and administrative establishments for implementing them. Perhaps with citizens participating fully in this way, we will be fulfilling the third segment of democracy - BY THE PEOPLE. This will complete the triad of Democracy for the people, of the people and by the people. Well done local circles. more
