MRP on flights
In america the concept of mrp is just not there, not on daily need items, not on anything, same thing on flights.
India has MRP regime so why are flights not under MRP. Why are some carriers charging 15000-25000 for one way domestic flights. This is just fleecing the passengers and taking advantage of someone's last minute travel need. It could be a funeral.
Can the consumer affairs dept do something about this? more

A recent survey by consumers international. reveals that ,all the world over, the AIRLINES never bother to pay compensation, for delayed travel, delayed,damaged, lost luggages, and DENIED BOARDING more

Air fare can never be equated with railway fare since a un occupied seat in the plane will make the air line business very uneconomical .So with a view to fill these seats discounted fair is charged. more

When the Railways are charging dynamic fare, why the Airlines can not do that. Let there be a standard rate and depending on the demand, let there is additional charges, which is to be shown separately in the ticket. more

The root cause for all these fleecing common man, is our rotten government and aviation ministry. They themselves are in nexus with the carriers so that they also earn out of the exorbitant profits that these airlines earn. We say, "where there is a Will there is a Way". However, our successive governments don't have any will to regulate the cost of domestic air travel, prices of commodities on MRP, cancellation charges etc etc. We, the common man are on the receiving end. On the one hand, the government levies unnecessary, unwanted, unethical, illegal various taxes, levies, cess etc. Is any citizen opening his mouth against such atrocities of fleecing the common man? In fact, any travel should be affordable to the common man. Service Tax: Is there any legitimacy in levying this on any commodity/service by the airlines or any travel operator? In what way the government is giving the service? I shall start a separate petition on such levies by the government. There must be a Regulatory Authority and a committee for any such pricing wherein there has to be a representation from the common public too. more
