MRP

Are there some guidelines as to how the MRP of a particular product is fixed by the manufacturer? And is there a Government Authority to check whether the MRP is fixed as per the guidelines? There are number of products available in the market which are available at 25% or more discount on MRP in the normal course. Same product at one place we get at MRP and at other place at so much discount. How to be sure that we are paying the correct price of a particular product from our hard earned money? Can the concerned Government Authority or any Member of the Local Circles elobrate on the subject? more

In addition to the above, I would also like to mention that the product like clothes has no 'MRP' and the shopkeeper are selling same product of same make/brand at random price. After implementation of GST the rates of clothes has been raised many folds almost double. There must be certain policy to depict price /MRP on each closes to regulate rates all over country. This must be brought to the knowledge of concerned Minister and policy maker, else the common middle man and poor will have to pay extra money for the clothes and the profit maker will sell their product/clothes at random price. ________________________________ From: Subhash Ahuja Sent: Monday, September 25, 2017 8:04 AM To: ak_mongia@hotmail.com Subject: "MRP" more
You are always at the mercy of the retailers as our government has utterly failed in monitoring the compliance of the laid down guidelines for the manufacturers to arrive at the MRPs. Hence MRP concept has become a tool for the sellers to dupe the consumers at their wills. Hopefully, we have since learnt to live with all such mismanagement. more
Friends, I want to bring to your notice the level of anarchy in this country and it is happening in all Metros. All these shared Autos & Taxis pay regular HAFTAS to the Police and charge shared fare from passengers as per their own wish in some places fixed by their unions. Most of these autos & taxis are illegally sponsored by MLAs & Councillors and the permit distribution is a total racket. And mind you this comes directly under our great Transport Minister Mr. Gadkari. Recently he talked about bulldozing automobile manufacturers to go Electric which later he retracted under pressure. Up to now, the Govt. could not come up with proper regulations about e-rickshaws & electric cars in the country, whereas in China small transport has gone electric many years back. All these slogans of Make In India is misnomer as the whole transport administration on the ground is a total mess. You cannot get anything done in any RTO in any parts of the country without paying speed money. All Govt. offices the same story of corruption and whole society is forced to cough out first in taxes and then in speed money in one form or other. This is our Incredible India and all our very intelligent Economists talk about thousands of crores in the digital media to fool people. This is unbelievable. more
Government should have a principle to fix the MRP. But urfortunately it is the manufacturer who is the sole authority to do so. more
Dear Subhasji, there is no rule & no one responsible in the Govt. for fixing the MRP. We are being fooled for ages about this MRP and this the reason for lot of corruption in the trade. The Govt. machinery is collecting taxes under many heads and also extorting the masses through the business class and giving the business class a bad name. This half-baked GST produced after 17 years of high level deliberations is an useless piece of jargon to hurt everybody and bring more corruption inflicted expenses in our daily lives.
