Mumbai CST - Karmali, Tejas, is all just a hype.

on 10/06/2017, I alongwith my family had travelled from Karmali to Panvel by Tejas Express. while booking the tickets, I had opted for no food. Because of this, we were not served tea or coffee. There was no tea or coffee vending machine in the train. I was told that at present tea / coffee were served only to those passengers who had opted for food. so what was all that hype when the train was introduced, wherein it was announced that the train would have tea coffee vending machines etc. We could not get this basic refreshment from the platform at Ratnagiri where the train stood just for a couple of minutes. Why not allow private vendors to install these machines and serve the passengers. what stops the decision makers to take decision on this front.

Further, almost 30-40% of the screens in the coach C8, were not functioning. No ear phones were provided. It was informed by the attendant that ear phones were not available.

Sad state of the Railways. more

If the basic services are not available, then why create such facilities in the first place and then go on to announcing of the train's facilities , during the parliament sessions, or inviting the press to showcase the newer aspects being introduced for passenger comforts, but in actual day to day experience, none is functional.Yet, the revenue target and fares are kept, in lieu of these services.....this is another form of cheating the commuters. more
You will confirm the facts by looking at the availability charts of these trains. The Shatabdi, Madovi, Manglore Express, Konkan Kanya run full and the the charts show waitlisting, apart from all the other trains from long distance, but Tejas, approx 600 seats are available for 19th June 2017, to day 17th June 2017 more
The Tejas hype continues. There is big number of travelers specially tourists who come to Goa for a holiday, the closest station to the most popular famous beaches in north Goa, Calangute, Baga, Candolim, is Thivim. Tejas does not have a halt at Thivim and so the passengers traveling to North Goa cannot travel by this train. If they land up at Karmali, another problem awaits them, the Taxi operators who charge almost 40 a kilometer to reach you to Calangute etc. i.e. approximately 1500 to 2000 Rs. as they charge return fare too. The ministry should have looked into this issue too, while planning the timetable. They should have referred to the past experience 2 years back with the Double Decker which terminated at Karmali and had to cancel the train and re-introduce it from Margaon after a gap of almost 1 year. more
